Technological progress and the explosion of population are
accelerating. It is like an avalanche that begins slowly down the hill and then
goes faster and faster. However... there are always some buts! Till when will it
be possible to grow without limits? Our planet has limits, but our ambitions
-have NONE. So-called "sustainable growth" of consumption, population, economy,
production, etc. is a contradiction of logic. The future does not look too
good!!!!
However, it is fascinating to live now -in times of many changes
and new discoveries. We now know much more about the world around us. The
scientific progress in technology, medicine, genetics (DNA), astronomy, etc.
etc. is gigantic. Thanks to Einstein's theory, we now know much more about the
universe. We now know, thanks to the theory of Darwin... how we evolved (many
missing links have been found). The science of
electronics changed our world with radio, television, computers, Internet, etc.
By employing new technologies, we discovered many mysteries of ancient history.
Using new technologies we improved our living standard. Now we have more cars,
airplanes, robots and we travel to the moon, etc.
