Getting Down to business in english - Students'' book 1:
This is the first of a two-book elementary course for students who have a practical need for english in their jobs or social life. The starting point assumes only a little passive knowledge of english but a high motivation to learn, as the course proceeds fairly rapidly through the basic structures of the language.
The course concentrates upon the functional needs of the learner so that he can actively use the english he is learning from early on. Among the many situations covered in book 1 are travel, offices, telephoning, banks, restaurants, hotels, simple personal and business letters and buying and selling.
