Descripción del libro usado "First aid in english reader"
|
 |
Preface:
There is nothing like Interest to get children to read well, to read widely, and to understand what they read. The stories in this book are specially selected to arouse, maintain, and satisfy the interest of the pupils. This interest helps the pupils to overcome many difficulties in the mechanics of diction and to attain an adequate speed of recital.
The Interesting Facts are presented in pictorial form for ease in comprehension at this particular stage. They have a direct bearing on the stories ad provide adequate material for expansion of vocabulary and general knowledge.
The Questions on the Stories (Do You Remember?) are in sequence and demand not only that the pupils read carefully but also that they remember the salient points. The answers (oral or written) can be used as a direct aid to Composition.
The Development Exercises (Can You Tell?) endeavour to expand on certain statements in the matter read, and the questions are designed to give the pupils an opportunity to express their thoughts and knowledge, simply and accurately.
Angus Maciver.
